Create a simple Vintage Inspired Post Box Flower Arrangement to bring spring charm into your home using a metal embossed post box and florals.
Hello there, BOP fans! This is Katie from The Casual Craftlete blog. It is officially spring and I am so happy about this time of year. I love flowers like crazy in all colors and shapes and this is the time of year is their time to shine. Today, I am sharing how you can make your own Vintage Inspired Post Box Flower Arrangement using artificial flowers and a metal embossed post box from Barn Owl Primitives. This simple and easy craft project is a great way to bring some spring into your home.
Supplies:
I started with this beautiful metal embossed post box from Barn Owl Primitives shop. This vintage inspired mailbox is lightweight and the detailing is rustic perfection. You can use this post box as a flower arrangement like I am showing you today, or you can use it as a regular mailbox for your house. Either way this is a gorgeous home good item that will bring charm to your home.
For the flower arrangement itself, you can get as creative as you like. You can pick your favorite color flowers to match your home decor. I found this beautiful peachy coral bush from the Flower Market at Michaels and a bunch of tall green stems. I used wire cutters to cut the individual flowers off of the stems. If you find single stem flowers like you like, fill free to use those. I like the pre-made bushes because they have different flowers and textures, making putting an arrangement together easy.
I cut foam sheets to fit tightly inside the post box. Then, I sorted the flowers and stems to create a beautiful floral arrangement. I am using artificial flowers because I want this arrangement to last all spring and through summer. Plus, I didn't want to put a vase of water inside the post box because I didn't want to damage it. If you choose to use real flowers, I would love to hear how it turned out.
I found an old distressed window shutter at a local antique store and thought it would be perfect to display the post box. I used a floral wire to attach the two together. You can always display the flower arrangement on a mantel, side table, or lean it up against an old window. It is up to you to chose where to put it in your home.
